Carmen Electra may be more than twenty years removed from the sandy beaches of Baywatch , but the 42 year-old model, actress, singer dancer can still “Werq” a sexy swimsuit like the old days. And that’s “Werq” with a “Q” not a “K”.
Carmen returns to her first love, music, with her newly released single “Werq”. She recently opened up to Galore magazine about it, revealing that her passion for songwriting and performing goes as far back as her childhood.
“When I was a little girl my dream was to be a drummer in an all-girl rock band,” she told Galore .
In the sexy new music video , released late last month, Carmen Electra does what she does best: flaunt her seriously hot figure. The term “Werq”, according to the lyrics of the song, encourages women to “pick a pose, lipstick on, make your moves, get it on, tip your head, swing it back, showin’ off all of that.”
The “showin’ off all that” is something Carmen has made a living doing, so it’s good to see Electra following the old adage, “write what you know.”
The striking difference in sound from her previous music endeavors is something Carmen also noted in the recent Galore article, stating that “my music then was played with all live instruments and my music now is more dance/pop/electro.” The EDM influence in the track is evident from the first bass thumping beat of the song’s intro.
Carmen dished on more than just her music in Galore . As reported by Inquisitr , Electra also revealed her secret to staying young and beautiful as well.
“Try to stay stress free,” she said in the article. “And wash off your makeup at night.”
Finally, Carmen dished on her dating life, letting the world know that she is “happily single and having fun,” which is evident from the sexy swimsuit spread that accompanied the article. Electra’s personal life has always been fodder for the tabloids with her most famous relationship being her marriage to NBA bad-boy Dennis Rodman during the 1990s.
Meanwhile, Carmen is no stranger to the music dating scene either. After all, Electra was married to former Red Hot Chili Peppers and current Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. Fans even got a glimpse into their day-to-day married life courtesy of the 2004 reality show ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave .
