Cameron Diaz is the latest celebrity to discuss the leaked nudes that is known in certain circles as the “Fappening.”

In case you haven’t heard, a number of your favorite stars and musicians found several of their personal pics — some of which show the them in their birthday suits — making the rounds online. Although the images originally popped up on the deep web last week, they soon trickled onto sites like 4chan, Reddit, and Imgur. Now everyone and their perverted teenage brother are discussing the matter, though celebrities seem to have a better perspective on the matter than most about the leak.

The Daily Mail explains that Cameron Diaz addressed the leaked photos while promoting her comedy Sex Tape . The film, which co-stars Jason Segel, follows the exploits of a young couple after their homemade sex tape is somehow uploaded to the internet. In light of recent events, it doesn’t really sound all that funny.

Not surprisingly, Cameron Diaz is more than a little disgusted by this breach of privacy. Like anyone with a decent set of morals, the actress thinks it’s a serious violation of rights. Unfortunately, there isn’t much anyone can do about the situation at the moment. While reps for Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton have threatened websites with lawsuits, completely wiping the pictures from the internet is a futile task.

However, Diaz is thoroughly convinced it’s only a matter of time before the responsible parties are officially brought to justice. In fact, the FBI is reportedly investigating the leak.

“Whoever has done it, they will be caught and made examples of. This can happen to anyone. If these guys can do it to this group of people then everyone’s vulnerable to it. I think that people really need to look at… how would they feel if it happened to them?”

Segel seemed to agree with his Sex Tape co-star.

“What happened in real life is a terrible crime. And it’s very easy when you use the word ‘celebrity’ to take away the human aspect but there is an actual person with a life, you know.”

Word on the street suggested that hackers gained access to the photos by infiltrating the iCloud. However, Apple quickly assessed the situation and squashed these rumors. According to the company, the hackers didn’t gain access to the data on these servers .

“When we learned of the theft, we were outraged and immediately mobilized Apple’s engineers to discover the source. After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet. None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved.”

Do you agree with Cameron Diaz that the “Fappening” is a gross violation of privacy? Do you believe it’s only a matter of time before the perpetrators are caught?
