Dax Shepard and wife Kristen Bell are giving fans a peek into their lives as expectant parents. A new commercial for Samsung featuring the couple shows them facing the challenges of pregnancy with the help of Galaxy Tab S tablet.
Titled “What You Really Need,” the commercial was posted to YouTube on Sunday.
In the 90-second spot, Dax and Kristen wake up together and check the weather on the tablet. Forgoing their planned hike, Shepard and Bell decide to laze around the house instead. In their charmed life, every element of the day — from buying groceries to practicing scripts — somehow involves their Samsung tablets.
It ends with a Samsung tagline promoting the Galaxy Tab S’ large screen.
Kristen insists the commercial is an accurate depiction of her married life.

On Wednesday, Ad Week named the commercial “ad of the day,” calling it “pretty entertaining.” Writer Tim Nudd points out that much of the humor in the commercial arises from Kristen’s pregnancy.
While Dax is out finding food to fulfill Kristen’s food cravings, Kristen is home watching a video of a cat and a dog playing. Dax finds her crying and responds, “I would prefer you didn’t watch these when you were pregnant, sweetie.”
Next, the couple prepares for a swanky night out by dressing up. Dax reacts to Kristen’s outfits with the rote responses, “beautiful” and “spectacular.” Unsatisfied with her choice in gowns, Kristen rejects one outfit, explaining “I feel like it makes me look pregnant.”
Of course, the couple never leave home due to the distraction offered by their tablets.
As reported in the Inquisitr , Kristen announced her pregnancy in June. Dax and Kristen already have a child together, 17-month old Lincoln Bell Shepard.
Lincoln was notably absent from the commercial, likely because of her parents’ tough stance on paparazzi. Dax and Kristen spearheaded the “No Kids Policy” that encourages fans to boycott magazines that publish unauthorized photos of celebrity children.
Earlier this year, Kristen explained her position to the Los Angeles Times .
“It’s all how the child is affected. That’s the bottom line… We had always had an agreement that when this little thing came into the world, all bets were off, no pictures would happen. We now have a duty as parents to protect this little one.”
Kristen and Dax used Twitter to publicize their “No Kids Policy” campaign.
