EDM DJ Zedd and singer Kesha will be releasing a version of the song “True Colors” on Friday, according to Rolling Stone .

Many fans were intrigued when Zedd posted a picture on Instagram of him and Kesha at a recording studio, according to E! Online .

“True Colors” is a song Zedd released last year, and it looks like it will be updated with Kesha’s help. Zedd and Kesha appeared together on stage at Coachella recently. Zedd posted the album artwork for the new “True Colors” track on Wednesday.

Kesha had posted a photo from her recording with Zedd on Instagram with a caption talking about what it’s like to work with him.

“It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a f*****g beautiful person with a heart of gold,” Kesha wrote.

Kesha has been in many headlines in the past few months regarding her legal and personal issues with producer Dr. Luke. Kesha sued Dr. Luke in 2014, claiming he had sexually and verbally abused her. She was hoping to get out of her contract with Sony that made her have to work with him. Unfortunately for Kesha, a judge denied her request to record new music without him in February, according to Rolling Stone .

Zedd showed Kesha support while she has been dealing with her legal and personal troubles with Dr. Luke.

“Very very sorry to hear about your whole situation,” Zedd tweeted to Kesha. “I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”

Kesha has claimed Dr. Luke drugged and raped her during their time working together, and she also claimed he tried to control her and her career while they worked together.

After Kesha was denied her injunction in February, the Twitter hashtag “#FreeKesha” began trending. Fans wanted Kesha to be freed from her contract with Dr. Luke so she could begin moving on from what they saw as a terrible time in her life. Not only did fans respond to Kesha’s struggles, but many well known celebrities decided to weigh in on her case.

Celebrities like Adele, Lorde, and Ariana Grande expressed their feelings on the issue, and Taylor Swift actually donated $250,000 to help with Kesha’s legal battle.

The responses from Sony and Dr. Luke have not been satisfactory for Kesha’s fans, who feel they are trying to put the blame on her or ignore the issue.

“Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever, but Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha,” an attorney for the label told the New York Times in February.

“Sony is doing everything it can to support the artist in these circumstances, but is legally unable to terminate the contract to which it is not a party,” he said.

Dr. Luke has denied all of Kesha’s allegations, and he has tried to switch the focus of the case.

“Imagine if you or somebody you loved was publicly accused of a rape you knew they didn’t do,” he tweeted in February. “It’s sad that [Kesha] would turn a contract negotiation into something so horrendous and untrue. But I feel confident when this is over the lies will be exposed and the truth will prevail.”

Kesha is currently 29-years-old, and she has been known in the music scene since she was 17-years-old. It seems she’s not planning on stopping anytime soon, and her collaboration with Zedd may be her turning a new leaf.
