Rapper Nelly has reached a mutual settlement with the woman who claimed that he raped her on a tour bus, TMZ reported.

Last October, a woman named Monique Greene accused the Grammy-winning star of sexual assault after he performed in a Seattle club.

According to Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, “both parties have mutually agreed to drop the lawsuit. No settlement or money changed hands.”

Authorities stated last year that Greene had called 911 to report her assault — with Nelly’s tour bus, where the alleged incident took place, still parked at a shopping center in Auburn.

Greene, who was 21 years of age at the time, reported that she started drinking and hanging out with Nelly after the performance. Nelly then invited the woman to his tour bus. The woman said that once on the bus, Nelly forced her to have both oral and vaginal sex with him — and then threw a $100 bill at her.

Shortly after Greene reported her rape, authorities took Nelly into custody to investigate the matter. The star denied the charges, saying that the woman had engaged in consensual sex with him. He also counter-sued the woman for defamation.

Nelly’s attorney issued a statement on the day of the arrest to confirm that the star had been released from jail. He defended his client by calling the allegations “completely fabricated”, per a Reuters report.

A few days after the incident, TMZ reported that the woman had decided to drop the charges against Nelly because of the emotional trauma that the episode had caused her.

Karen Koheler — Greene’s legal representative — said that her client was extremely upset by the way that law enforcement had handled the situation. However, she claims that before her “tears had even dried,” the story was already all over the internet, causing the victim great distress, a report published by the Inquisitr stated.

The case has now been closed as both parties mutually decided to reach a settlement.

Nelly with girlfriend Shantel Jackson

Nelly, who is best known for hits like “Country Grammar”, “Dilemma”, and “Hot in Herre”, has been accused of sexual misconduct by other women in the past. Following the lawsuit filed against him by Greene last year, two other women came forward to accuse the rapper of sexual assault, as The Guardian reported.

One of the accusers — who chose to remain anonymous — claimed that she went to take a picture with Nelly after his show at the Cliffs Pavilion in Essex on December 5, 2017. According to her claims, the rapper then escorted her to his dressing room and started masturbating in front of her.

Nelly’s attorney dismissed the allegations, and said that the star was “accompanied by his girlfriend during this tour and she was at his side throughout.”

He urged the police to “investigate every allegation of this nature,” per a report by TMZ .
