Despite being above Tottenham in the league table, Arsenal is set to go to the Capital One Cup clash on low morale after defeats to Chelsea and Dynamo Zagreb. Tottenham had won three of the last four North London derby at White Hart Lane, however, Arsenal won the last time the two teams faced off in the Capital One Cup.

Although facing the prospects of losing three consecutive games, Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger, is expected to rotate his squad as he usually does for the Capital One Cup. After winning his last three games, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to field a strong lineup to continue his team’s winning momentum.

Tottenham will be without Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason, and Mousa Dembele due injury. However, expect Son Heung-Min to start along with Harry Kane, as the South Korean has notched up three goals in his last two games.

Santi Cazorla remains out for Arsenal after receiving two yellow cards against Chelsea, but Gabriel is available after successfully appealing his three game ban from the FA. Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, and Francis Coquelin all miss out due to injury.

Heading into Tottenham vs Arsenal, Mauricio Pochettino revealed his admiration for his opposite number Arsene Wenger despite his recent run of form.

“I respect (Arsene). He’s a great manager. I admire him because he’s in charge for maybe 18 years or 19 years, and he has real talent,” Pochettino said to the Express . “It’s not easy to stay at the same club for a long time.”

Arsene Wenger is beginning to feel the heat but, as the longest serving current top flight manager the Frenchman has been through it all before.

Wenger stated, “Every single game that you play you want to win but especially this one.”

“It is a bit more special because it’s always a big meaning. We want to get back into winning habits and that’s why the momentum is even more important for us.”
